Yesterday we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and head out for our first family hike of the year. Blue Mounds State Park was our destination.
At the top of the park (or mound) there are two towers that are climbable, and once up there, you can see prairie and farmland as far as the horizon. It's pretty beautiful despite the overall brownness of March.

The hike itself is not terrible strenuous unless you have a 25 lb kid strapped to your back.
Still though, it's just rolling and peaceful.
And now that it's warm enough for the whole family to be out together, this member of the family couldn't be happier!

Look closely, that shadow on the hound is the only picture of me, which is just fine given my general appearance yesterday :)
On a side note, the kelty backpack the hubs carries the babe around in retails for about $200. I scored it last year at a yardsale for $20! And in just another month, yard sale season begins again!!! This year I've got my eyes out for a chariot bike cart for Colbie.
We've gotten some of best baby accessories from yard sales. YEAH for that !
ReplyDeleteSharing your profile with a hound? Come on, now, it couldn't have been that bad.
On a very different note, great birthday greeting to Lisa. Patience has made her presence known. :)
