Over the River and Thru the Woods...

I confess, this blog is a month late. The only thing I have going for me is that we celebrated Christmas over Thanksgiving too so really, it's only a few days late...right?

Last month we traveled to Michigan to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family. With one of our families being in Michigan and the other in Washington (the state, not the city) we end up alternating where we travel for each holiday. Stay tuned for Christmas Number Two: Seattle Style.

Once again Colbie proved to be an amazing traveler and we made the seven hour drive there and back without incident. I'm pretty sure one of these days she is going to decide enough is enough when it comes to long trips. I'm crossing my fingers that doesn't happen for a long time though.

The Thursday we were there was Thanksgiving, and we celebrated with the traditional turkey and all of the fixings. Everything was delicious and as usual, the bird was carved to perfection by Grandpa B.
And that's pretty much our pictures from Thanksgiving. Now onto Christmas number one, which took place the following evening:

Best presents of the night?
Wrapping paper rolls of course!

Other favorites of the night included:

The talking pony puppet.

and...

The elf microphone, which may go down in history as the world's most annoying toy, but so fun at the same time.

Simone and Colbie had so much fun opening all of the gifts and it was just as much fun to watch them.
And to think, it's only going to get more fun as the girls get older!

Overall is was a nice little weekend away to celebrate with family two very important holidays.
