It has been five years since I was last home for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the one holiday that was never a huge deal to my family. My dad was always in Florida setting up the Christmas tree lots, so my mom made my brother and I pizza with ground turkey on top, and we loved it! This year we loaded up the car and headed back to Michigan to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we had a great time.
Thanksgiving was spent at my grandparents, and with a little coaching ahead of time D.B. knew his exact spot on the couch to watch football with the guys. The food was great, and it was just nice being home to celebrate with family.
Saturday evening was Christmas for us, and we had a great time hanging out with the whole family. We had another wonderful dinner, and then it was present time! I think everybody loved everything they got, including Simone and her new talking pony. Simone also really enjoyed the boxes that all of her stuff came in.

Could have just gotten her an empty box

Simone got a lot of cute clothes from Santa and we thought it was a good idea to have her put on a fashion show, this is how she felt about the whole thing:

We were visiting during hunting season, and my parents live in a large wooded area. My mom got Molly a sweater for Christmas and we were very grateful because it gave her something to wear every time she went outside. Val looked more like a convict picking up trash on the side of a highway, but at least she was safe too.

Overall it was a great weekend, and even though Thanksgiving was never a big deal it was really nice to be back. And here is a bonus picture of Purci who had to get a bath while we were visiting.
Thanks for the GOOD laugh:(
ReplyDeleteVal totally looks like she is on a work release program, I love it!
