A Very Sanders Christmas

December 23rd we loaded up the car and headed to the airport. Approximately two hours later, we loaded up the same car, at the same airport and headed to the movies. Due to weather and heavy holiday travel traffic, our chance at making all of our flights to Seattle were zilch. 4 AM, December 24th we awoke and loaded the car...again, and headed to the airport...again. Alas we made it to our destination on 18 hours late. Merry Christmas to you too United Airline.

Once in Seattle we met up with Jason, D.B.'s brother, and headed to Uncle Stan, Aunt Kim, and Peyton's house for some chili, courtesy of D.B.'s mom, Marilyn. Then it was game on. We headed over to ACME Bowl for some holiday rowdiness and bowling fun. We played two games switching up teams, but at the end of the day, despite Jason, J-Mac Sanders' high score it was these individuals who came out victorious:

Stan, Peyton "Ping" Prothero, Hillary "H1N1" Sanders, and Marilyn "M Boogie" SandersHere is a shot of the losers:

K.C. "Kacers" Sanders, D.B. "Deebs" Sanders, Jason "J-Mac" Sanders, and Aunt Kim

Christmas morning we headed to Blessed Sacrament, the church where we were married. It was a wonderful Christmas Mass. After church we headed back to the house where we all opened gifts and made dinner. I baked the pie, Jason was head chef with K.C. as his sous chef, and D.B. did an amazing job basting the ham. When the gifts were opened and our bellies shook like bowls full of jelly, it meant only one thing...it was time to play the Wii.Saturday the 26th we woke up early to head up north to meet Sara and Lily for breakfast and more presents!!! It didn't take long before Lily was turning heads not only for her looks but now for her brains too. Courtesy of Dr. D.B. Lily is now the proud owner of a pink medical kit, which she proceeded to carry around the mall like a briefcase, it was fantastic.
After our way too short visit we headed back to the airport to return home. Once again United wanted only the best for us, so they delayed and canceled some more of our flights. We ended up being re-routed through Denver in order to finally get home...at 2am.

Here is the chaos at the Denver airport, all courtesy of United.

  1. Sounds like a fun trip, even if it was short! One question though, are you all playing Wii in the kitchen?!

  2. My favorite part is if you look ever-so-closely, you will notice that DB is the happiest loser of all time!

  3. Tami~Yes the Wii was played in the kitchen, it was there was a largest enough TV, with the easiest access for everyone to play...and eat.

Jason~That's because he had never experienced the feeling of losing before, he was excited to find out what it was all about.
