It was really nice to get to know R a little better. She is new to the agency and we will be her first couple she takes from start to finish, and we are all pretty excited about that. At first we were a little apprehensive about her newness, but she seems great, and is really rooting for us.
Next step is the actual home visit. This will take place on April 20th, which seems like a long time from now (boo!). But...with our schedules being a little nuts right now, that was the soonest we could meet. I guess it gives me some serious time to clean the house and maybe teach the hound some manners. Until then, we will finish up our mandatory education hours, and work on our "adoptive parent profile".
If all goes as planned, our profile will be active by early to mid May!!
Side note~During our meeting R had to keep taking calls. Apparently a baby was born on Wednesday and that day the birth parents contacted the agency to make an adoption plan. Thursday morning they picked a couple from the pool, and the couple didn't even know yet that their baby had been born! HOLY CRAP!!! R assured us that this was very unusual, and that we would more than likely have a little more time to prepare.
**The picture above was an Easter gift we received from my parents in the mail Wednesday. It's perfect!**
LOVE the gift and as ALWAYS am rooting and praying for you!!!

Step by step...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you remember Sara (Haverdink) Jones from Hope. She graduated in our class, and she is one of my dearest friends. She just started her blog about their adoption process, and I thought you might find it interesting.
