Amy and John left right around 4pm and our next set of guests pulled in approximately 30 minutes later. This set of guests was excited, loud with shrieks, and bearing old videos, photo albums, and Spanky's breadsticks. Megan and Kari arrived first and Dena arrived the following morning. (Trisha, the last of "the cabin girls," ended up not being able to make the trip.) The five of us girls all graduated together from Fremont High School 10 years ago, and haven't all been together since. We used to take a yearly camping trip together, and thus called ourselves "the cabin girls".

Marking Fremont on the map at a local store.

The weekend was filled with margaritas, the farmers market, slumber parties, lots of pictures and old (horrible) home videos, hot water, and falling asleep while watching The Shining. It was everything this weekend was meant to be...plus some. It had been awhile since we had all laughed until we were crying. We all decided it was a reunion long over due and destined to happen more than once every ten years. Hopefully next time it will be all five of us!

Madison 2009

For all of you concerned about D.B.'s well being during this hen-fest, he and Molly took off to his friend's lake house for a day of waterskiing and barbecuing. A special shout out to April, Mike and Jake for rescuing my husband for the day.
