Adoption: On waiting for number two

Our profile went active on or around August 4th.

A lot of people have been asking us for updates and how the waiting has been this time around, so here it is:

The first time we went through the adoption process we wanted a baby pretty much yesterday.  Our hearts were aching to become parents and we had a lot of time to think about it.  Now, two years later, we don't have that giant hole in our hearts waiting to be filled, and we certainly don't have the down time either.  I'm not saying that we aren't longing to be parents again, but it's nice not to have the house seem quite so quiet as we wait.  So, to answer the question, the waiting has been much easier.

That being said, I'm sure we will have a similar excitement when we do get matched as we did before, and heaven forbid, the same sadness and grief if another match falls through.  But...Colbie has taught us a very important lesson, and that is to trust the process.  If we had thrown in the towel after the two failed matches the first time around, look at what we would have missed out on!  

As for the update, nothing yet but stay tuned, we'll keep you posted.
