We took Sydney in for her well child check yesterday and just like we thought, she is growing like crazy!!!
Weight: 10 lb 2 oz (21%) , up from 7 lb 12 oz when she was 4 weeks old!
Height: 21.1 inches (5.5%) I think this is the stat that is going to keep Small Fry her nickname.
Head Circumference 37.5 (29%)
So first, here is the monthly chair pictures with her adoption owl:
And of course, the cutest laundry in town:
Things that Sydney seems to enjoy these days:
Eating
Snuggling
Her swing during naptime
Car rides
Her “guys” aka the animals that hang about her on her activity mat
Her Aunt K.C. who got the first really big intentional smile
Constant motion, including us bouncing on the yoga ball nonstop in the evenings
Dislikes:
Being put down
Burping
Spitting up
Lying flat
Bath time
Sleeping when it’s dark out
Reflux
The last of Sydney’s dislikes, reflux, has led us to a new "operation happy baby" regimen, including thicker formula, prune juice, stronger medication, and a new esophagus coating medication. Sister has been seriously miserable and the amount of spit up that comes out of her after each meal shocked even the nurses at our appointment yesterday. Our amazing pediatrician also thought that Sydney hasn’t been smiling a lot before because she has been so uncomfortable, poor girl. Needless to say, she was really letting the staff hear it yesterday at her well child visit. If the newest plan of action doesn’t work, then it’s off to the GI specialist, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Despite the discomfort, we can’t help but think this tiny little person of ours is happy, I mean seriously:

oh she is just beautiful :)
