Last Stop, Dublin

So the last afternoon I was in Ireland, we spent in Dublin.  To be honest, Dublin wasn't my favorite.  That might have had everything to do with the fact we aren't really the bar going sort of folk.  Don't get me wrong, Dublin was nice in a big city sort of way, but having just come from my favorite place of the trip, Kinsale, I was a little let down.

We walked the main walking street of the city, which was hustling and bustling:

Then headed through the doors into the court yard of Trinity College.  It amazed me how despite still being outside in downtown Dublin, it was so quiet here.

Our plan was to see The Book of Kells, but it was closed by the time we got there.  Instead, we stopped by a little store on campus and picked up some caffeine and one of the hubs' favorite European treats.

Along our walk through Dublin we stopped by to visit the courtyard of Dublin Castle and another beautiful church.

After a long afternoon of walking we headed to dinner at Chapter One with one of the doctors the hubs works closely with in his research.  It was an amazing dinner in what turned out to be the old whiskey cellar of the Jameson family.  How cool is that!?!?  Although we did not try the whisky, we ate ourselves to the point of uncomfortableness on things like quail and rabbit.

After that it was a quick sleep and an early morning to get me to the airport on time.  Although I was really sad to say good-bye to Ireland, and more so the hubs (who was staying another 3-4 days for the conference), I was pretty excited to get home to see this little someone!!!

And now back to our regularly scheduled Colbie-filled blogs!!!  Thanks for your patience :)
